PHILOSOPHY OF SOCIAL SCIENCE AND APPLIED SCIENCE The success in the eighteenth and nineteenth century was quite large on the social and the intellectual life of the people living in Europe that they started trusting the words of scientists. The positive response to science happened as a result of a change in the socio- cultural milleu of time which explains why belief or application of science is called positivism. The time In which positivism grew is referred to as the enlightenment period. It is marked a period where people started a revolution to their Greek heritage. This time was called the dark age because it was the time religious belief reigned supreme. positivism rejects theoretical speculation that are not based on facts of experience as a means of obtaining knowledge. There are lots of problems with this concepts of ideal knowledge seeking enterprise. First is observation What is social Science?? It is an area of study dedicated to the explanation of human behavior, interaction and manifestation,either as an individual in a society or collectively as a group. This science seeks to employ the method of science in the investigation of social phenomena taking the human as an object of study. However the philosophy arouse out of the curiosity that the central focus and the propelling motive of social science may be impossible or unachievable due to the methodological mismatch. The problem of reason and causes is a problem with social science.one must understand the features of science to provode a correlation between an event and its cause. The cause and effect : 1.) must have an invariable or constant relation in the sense that whenever the alleged cause occurs, the event must also occur
